Helping Twitter reimagine the employee experience
Twitter is on a journey to become one of the world's most diverse, inclusive and accessible tech companies. This means rethinking how new employees are welcomed in to the company and providing equitable benefits to all.
Projekt202 partnered with Twitter’s People Systems to better understand the existing employee experience and create a roadmap of improvements that would inspire Twitter employees to #LoveWhereYouWork.
Discovery
The project was divided in to two workstreams, new hire onboarding and benefits enrollment. We considered the experience for both the employee (front of house) and adminstrator (back of house).
During discovery, I ingested existing documentation, conducted interviews and workshops, and walked through the experience. I mapped the information in service blueprints, user journeys, and story maps.
Findings & Recommendations
From discovery activities, I was able to understand how Twitter’s existing systems worked together, where the existing experience fell short from the ideal, and identify areas for improvement.
Design
Seven key screens were identified as priorities to improve the onboarding process for both onboarding administrators and new hires. Since the platform to support the experiences had not yet been determined, the design phase focused on ideal features and interactions, shown through annotated wireframes and prototypes.
